Construction has now begun at Watersplash Lodge in The New Forest on which we are acting as client side project managers. The proposed single story dwelling sits on a compact site on the banks of a small river and within the roof protection area of a large neighbouring tree.
Traditional foundations within this location would cause significant root loss therefore the use of mini-piles and an above ground slab has been employed allowing the development to proceed. We have seen a recent increase in the use of Mini-Piles as it offer many advantages over traditional methods.
The Lodge will be cedar clad and will have a living Sedum roof, fitting into the surrounding natural environment perfectly.
