Brief
The owner was planning extension and refurbishment works. There were no reliable drawings, and on a terraced house the party walls, floor levels and the relationship to the neighbours all have to be right before planning drawings and party wall notices go out.
Capture
We scanned every room, the loft and the garden with the Leica BLK360 and RTC360, and captured the front and rear elevations from street and garden level. Stations were registered in Leica Cyclone into one point cloud of the whole property inside and out, with levels tied through from front to back.
Deliverables
Floor plans for every level, including the loft
Sections through the house and proposed extension zone
Front and rear elevations
Registered point cloud in E57 for the architect to measure from directly
All drawings in DWG and PDF.
Why it matters
Planning drawings and the party wall award start from true geometry: ceiling heights, floor levels and the position of the party walls are verified rather than assumed. The architect can take any further dimension from the point cloud without another site visit. See our measured building survey service .
