What is the difference between a measured building survey and a topographical survey?
A measured building survey records the building itself: plans, sections and elevations. A topographical survey records the land around it: levels, boundaries, trees and services. We provide both, the latter by drone photogrammetry.
Do I need a measured survey for a planning application?
Planning drawings must show the existing building accurately. A laser-scanned survey gives your architect true geometry, which avoids corrections after validation and disputes with neighbours over heights and distances.
What accuracy do I get?
Registered point clouds are typically within 2 to 5 mm; drawings are produced to the tolerance we agree with you, usually 10 mm for building surveys. The point cloud is supplied so any dimension can be checked.
Can you survey an occupied building?
Yes. Scanning is non-contact and quiet. We plan stations to avoid people in the data and can work out of hours.
How much does a measured building survey cost?
We quote per project based on floor area, complexity, the outputs you need and access. Send the address and a short brief and we will quote within one working day.
