Brief
The client required:
A reliable 3D representation of Grey Carr Lodge Farm to LOD 300
A model suitable for coordination and clash checking
Delivery in open, non-proprietary IFC format to integrate with the client’s existing workflows and software stack
There was no requirement for site surveys – all work was to be based on the information provided.
Our Approach
Information review We checked the drawings and data for completeness, queried any gaps or inconsistencies early, and agreed modelling assumptions with the client.
LOD 300 modelling We built a disciplined, element-based model with appropriate geometry and parameters at LOD 300, ensuring that the structure and key building elements could be used confidently for coordination and planning.
IFC & RVT export and QA The model was structured to export cleanly to IFC & RVT, with a clear hierarchy and sensible naming conventions. We carried out test imports into different viewers to confirm usability on the client side.
Outcome
A coordinated LOD 300 BIM model of Grey Carr Lodge Farm
Robust IFC deliverable ready for use by the design, cost and contractor teams
Reduced risk of misinterpretation versus working only in 2D
A clear digital baseline for any future design development or alterations
If you need a similar BIM model developed from existing drawings and data – in IFC or any other standard format – we can scope it quickly and give you a clear, fixed-fee proposal.
